Warm Your Winter Complexion with These Bronzers

It goes without saying that our faces give a good impression of our general health and looking bright, glowing and with a healthy colour is the picture of wellness. Once upon a time that meant hitting up tanning beds or slathering ourselves in tanning oil before laying out in the backyard to achieve the kind of sun-kissed look that radiates health.

Luckily, we’ve wised up to the harmful effects of UVA and UVB rays. While we’re all now doing our best to stay out of the sun, being sun-safe doesn’t mean you have to go without that warm golden glow it gives your complexion.

Bronzers are a must-have makeup item and are the quickest way to cheat a Summer glow. Admittedly I was terrified by them until a few years ago when I realised that not all bronzers would leave my face looking flat, cakey and orange.

These days, formulas are sophisticated and shade ranges are growing, helping us achieve a more naturally radiant look. Particularly in Winter when we all tend to be a little paler, choosing the right bronzer; one that’s not too sparkly, isn’t too warm and blends effortlessly, is the key to a subtle glow up.

Here’s our favourites for Winter…

Basics by B Face Palette

Call us biased but the Crete bronzer from the Basics by B Face Palette is a must-have. It’s the perfect trans-seasonal matte bronze shade that suits every skin tone. It delivers a warm glow to your complexion that is soft enough to look natural while still making you look like you’ve just returned from a six-week European adventure.

Westman Atelier Beauty Butter Bronzer

You know we love anything that combines skincare ingredients into a flawless makeup product and this Westman Atelier bronzer delivers. The shade is soft and matte without looking muddy and it blends seamlessly onto your skin to add a touch of sun to your look. It’s also loaded with nourishing oils and butters to help care for your skin while you wear it. It’s a win-win!

Becca Sunlit Bronzer in shade Capri Coast

When you first apply this bronzer from Becca the colour is very pigmented however, with a bit of strategic brush work it blends out to become a beautifully light sheen of bronzey colour with just a hint of sparkle. The depth of the colour and its buildability makes it a great choice for a range of different skin tones.

NARS Sun Wash Diffusing Bronzer in shade Laguna

Laguna is one of NAR’s most iconic products and in this soft-focus formula it really shines. The finish sits comfortably between matte and illuminating and it is completely sparkle free (a big must for a natural Winter look). It doesn’t have the same heavy finish that other matte bronzers have and it sits weightlessly on your skin to give a really natural, golden glow.
