The Best Beauty Looks From NYFW

The whirlwind that is New York Fashion week has come and gone and while the new season clothes and model filled runways were exciting and all, we’re more interested in the new season beauty looks that will undoubtedly spark the trends for the season to come.

If there’s one thing that summarises the overarching theme of beauty looks this NYFW, it’s that anything goes. There was a serendipitous mix of natural skin and minimally made up faces alongside some of the boldest eye looks and intricate designs. Perhaps the biggest trend to take away is that the best beauty trend is simply using makeup to express yourself.

As for the looks we loved the most and will be doing our best to emulate throughout the Summer, here are our picks…

Brandon Maxwell with makeup by Tom Pecheaux

What’s better than a smoky eye on a hot Summer’s night you ask? A metallic smoky eye. This 80’s era gunmetal smoky eye at Brandon Maxwell is a must-try evening look.

Jason Wu with makeup by Diane Kendal

Inspired by watercolour, this soft and Summery look should serve as the perfect inspiration to add a pop of peach to your new season look.

Helmut Lang with makeup by Susie Sobol

Neon makeup is not going anywhere and a pop of eyeliner is the easiest way to incorporate it into your look if you’re feeling a little apprehensive.

Rebecca Minkoff with hair by Justine Marjan

We will undoubtedly be doing our best to recreate this perfectly undone low messy bun with our salty hair after a long hot day at the beach. It’s cool, casual and works for any occasion.

Khaite with hair by Eugene Souleiman

There are very few better ways to dress up tousled locks than adorning them with dripping crystals. It looks like it’s time for pearl clips to move over in favour of diamante adorned accessories. P.S. How great is the skin-first makeup look?!
