Style Studio- Taking The Fear Out Of Home Hair Colouring!

In the past I’ve coloured my hair plenty of times at home, but I’ve always played it safe and stuck to the same dark brown. Experimenting with colour is definitely something I’d always wanted to do but because my hair is naturally very dark I wasn’t ever brave enough to try it at home. Always fearing I’d mess it up and end up with a dodgy result, I’d given up trying. But when Schwarzkopf challenged me to join their Colour College and do a D.I.Y Violet dip dye I felt excited and apprehensive at the same time. Eeek!! Could I pull it off myself?IMG_9903

Because my ends were already pre-lightened to a balayage style look it was the perfect foundation for a D.I.Y dip dye.  I read through the instructions, made sure my gloves were on and I put a towel around my neck to protect my clothes. I started by mixing the products and getting them ready for application. I started with Schwarzkopf Brilliance in Black by applying it to the roots and blending it down to the mid lengths. I made sure only to blend the black to the mid lengths so I was leaving enough space to put the Violet colour on the ends afterwards. After I’d applied the Black I sectioned my hair in two pigtails using an elastic band to tie them in place just above my ears, so that the pig tails hung forward toward my face. I then used Schwarzkopf Brilliance in Ultra Violet and saturated each pigtail with the product. I left it to process for 30 minutes, rinsed and voila!

So go on, be brave and use the Schwarzkopf Colour College to inspire you to experiment with DIY colour!!! There are plenty of pretty looks to be recreated, oh and did I mention the prize? There are some fab prizes up for grabs when you upload a picture of your very own style studio inspired look.
