Style Stalker File- Taylor Swift

When Taylor Swift first broke onto the scene her goldilocks curls and bright red lipstick were her signature beauty look. Fast-forward to 2015 and the blonde beauty is rocking a glossy short bob and is constantly setting beauty trends.

Taylor still rocks the classic red lip, although her look has definitely been updated since her country singing days.

Taylor’s makeup is constantly flawless thanks to her makeup artists but not all of us are fortunate enough to have our own personal beauty squad, so how do we achieve an airbrushed look without paying someone? To achieve that airbrushed effect for the skin you’ll want to use a matte foundation. Revlon’s Colour Stay Foundation $34.95 this product comes in two forms one for oily/ combination skin and one for normal / dry skin. This foundation is perfect for creating an airbrushed look, but to really make your skin look flawless apply it with a beauty blender sponge by stippling the product onto your skin. This foundation is long wearing and the lightweight formula won’t let the product cake, fade or rub off to ensure your look stays flawless all day long. This is a must have foundation for a night out.

Miss Swift will always rock the cat eye look, it’s become one of her trademarks. Some of us struggle to apply winged liner and it is a tricky technique to master, but here is a little easy trick that will ensure your flick is on fleek. Choose your desired eyeliner, preferably one that is easy for you to control. I always opt for a texta like pen eyeliner such as the L’Oreal Superliner Perfect Slim Eyeliner $24.45. This eyeliner is so easy to use to create a precise feline eye. To get the perfect cat eye you can apply a little bit of sticky tape to the corners of your eyes aiming towards the end of your brow. This will create a stencil for your wing. After you’ve applied the tape simply draw on the liner following the tape. After you have completed your wing simply take the tape off and you will have the perfect flick.

The red pout is really Taylor’s signature look; to copy cat her syle use a true classic red lipstick (MAC Ruby Woo $36). To create the perfect red lip you want to ensure that your lips are rid of any dry/flakey skin that may be sitting on top of your lips. To do this simply apply a lip scrub or a gentle exfoliator to your lips and rub together or using gentle circular motions with your toothbrush will polish away dead skin as well. (Lush Bubble Gum lip scrub $9.95). Next apply a light amount of lip balm to ensure your lips are moisturized and hydrated. Let the lip balm absorb into your lips, then dab a very small amount of foundation onto the lips, this will make the lipstick last longer and will stop the colour from bleeding. Then apply a red lip liner and fill in the entire lips (MAC Brick lip pencil $30). To get a perfect even lip line apply your red lipstick with a lip brush (MAC 318 Retractable lip brush $45) this will give you more control of the colour and will make it easier to create a perfect Taylor Swift pout.
