NY fashion week S/S 12- Hair and Make-up review

New York fashion Week Spring/Summer 2012 left us with an overwhelming amount of inspiration for hair and make-up styles to create as the warmer weather arrives.

Overall the look was fresh, feminine and elegant.

Hair styles ranged from  braids to pony tails yet they were all soft and loose, not too much hair spray and a little messy.

Make-up was fresh and soft, with soft peachy cheeks and nude eye colours just softly defined with a touch of pencil liner and lots of mascara. Lip colour was mainly nude pinks and peaches but there was the occasional burgundy and deep red for a touch of gothic chic.

My tips for recreating the look are-

-Apply an illuminate to the skin for a radiant glowing complexion.

– Don’t go overboard on the tan, just a natural golden look is perfect.

– For an effortless and elegant low pony tail. Tie your hair into a loose low pony, take a few sections from the pony tail and loosely pin around the band. Next gently pull a few strands loose around the face.

– If you opt for a deep lippy like a maroon or burgundy, make sure its matte, and  blot a few times after application to remove the excess for more of a lip tint than a block colour.
