21 Aug Combat Dry and Damaged Hands With These Grease-Free Hand Creams
Hand creams are one of those products you know you should be using but probably aren’t. It’s understandable because it is enormously difficult to find a hand cream that ticks the boxes of being super hydrating, quick absorbing, deliciously scented and leaves your hands silky smooth with no nasty residue.
But despite it being hard to pin down a winning product, hand creams are an important part of any beauty routine thanks to their ability to protect your hands from signs of aging. Dryness can quickly lead to fine lines and cracked cuticles and leaves your hands more susceptible to sun damage. It’s also just really nice to have soft, scuff-free hands.
I’ve been on the hunt for my must-have cream for what feels like an eternity and have only recently gotten into the habit of regularly massaging a dollop of hand cream into my mitts. I found a few great options that I could dot around my life to slot into my daily routine. There’s the one that’s in my desk drawer that’s great for a mid-typing break. The one on my bedside table that’s thick and creamy without making my pillow sticky, and the one that’s always in my hand bag for quick touch ups on the go.
If you’re looking for a new hand cream to reverse Winter’s drying effects, here are my tried and trusted favourites…
Go-To have really nailed the names of all of their products because this hand cream is super handy. It smells absolutely delightful so you can whip it out mid dinner date when you sneak off to the bathroom for a touch up without worrying about that traditional hand cream smell being a dead giveaway. It also absorbs really quickly as it’s quite a light formula but don’t be mistaken, your paws will be feeling soft and hydrated after just a couple of uses thanks to the inclusion of Shea butter and macadamia oil in the formula.
The Body Shop have come to be known for their ability to make incredibly nourishing products and this hand cream is no different. It’s almost like a mask for your hands but you don’t have to wash it off or sit around waiting for it to dry before going about your usual routine. The smell is subtle yet nice and the organic almond milk and honey make it the perfect choice for people with sensitive skin or who suffer from dermatitis on their hands.
If you don’t mind a bit of a splurge, it’s hard to go past By Terry’s hand cream. Inspired by their famous Baume De Rose, this softening cream feels like silk as you work it into your hands and has rosehip oil to provide long-lasting nourishment. It’s also formulated with some sciencey ingredients that help to reflect light to smooth lines and discolouration on your hands for a more youthful appearance.
It’s clear that a lot of thought went into the sophisticated formula of this Malin+Goetz hand cream. It’s oil free so you get zero slippery or sticky residue and it’s loaded with truly beneficial ingredients such as almond extract, fatty acids and B5 to repair dry, damaged and tough skin on your hands. It has a soft almond scent and works to prevent signs of aging. It’s a dream to use and an absolute steal of a product.
