Summer Bridal Beauty Trends

Choosing a beauty look for a bride is as important as choosing the menu or choosing her dress. I’m a strong believer that your wedding day makeup should be kept light, fresh and allow your natural beauty to shine. That doesn’t mean though that you should wear your everyday look down the aisle. It is a special day after all!

For Summer weddings in particular, a fresh and low-maintenance look is the key to matching the balmy weather. There are a few classic trends that tend to roll around every so often that make it super easy to achieve a carefree, you but a little better kind of look. They’re feminine, fun and strike a beautiful balance between natural beauty and a special event makeup look.

Classic Red

Let’s face it, a red lip works for anything, at any time of the year, but a brighter blue based red is a great way to bring a classic bridal look into a Summer themed wedding. Keeping your foundation light, adding a rosy blush and going easy on the eyeshadow is key in keeping this look from being too bold, dramatic and hiding your natural beauty.

Pink Pout

Gone are the days when  pink lipstick was only for Barbie and her plastic friends. If you pick the right shade, that being a pink that has a little depth, isn’t too soft or pastel, you can easily create a romantic wedding day look that is classy with a touch of girly-ness. Stick to a subtle gloss or creamy balm-like finish to keep the look radiant.

Lovely Lashes

If you’re not a fan of colour but still want to ramp up your everyday look, exaggerated lashes work beautifully with fresh skin and a nude lip. The trick here is to choose a nude or light brown eyeshadow to keep the look light and avoid a wintery smoky eye look.

Get Peachy

Peach tones are universally flattering and you can go as subtle or as bold as you like with the mono-tonal look without your makeup steering toward a costume look. The tones also play particularly well to Summer weather as they’re fresh and fun.
