29 May What’s Your Shade of Blush?

Blush is absolutely non-negotiable for me.

Foundation and concealer will make your skin tone look flawless, but when your face is one even colour all over, it looks flatter and more shapeless. A sweeping of blush not only adds a healthy glow, but it also gives the face a natural contour and warmth. So even if you’re wearing a heavy base, a touch of blush will make it look more natural. If you wear foundation without blush, your make-up will appear much heavier.

I often hear people avoid blush because they don’t want bright cheeks. But blush comes in all colours, and while there are plenty of bold colours around, there are also plenty of beautiful nudes that will give you a subtle kiss of colour.

The first blush which is an all time fav for me is MAC Powder Blush, $41.00 in the shade ‘Peaches’. This is the perfect sheer peachy tone and it’s buildable- you can wear it lightly or build it to a deeper peachy hue. I’ve been using this one for years and I still love the way it looks. This blush is also completely matte, so a little goes a long way.

The next blush is a more bold tint for your cheeks. Endota Spa’s Natural Cheek and Lip Tint, $38.00, in the shade ‘Lively’ will instantly lift your complexion and liven up any makeup look. What’s good about this blush is that it’s quite creamy which makes it super easy to blend and you can make it as pigmented as you wish.

Revlon’s Insta Blush, $26.95 , starts out as a cream product then blends into a powder. The shade ‘Nude Kiss’ is perfect for any natural and everyday makeup look. This is quite a sheer product but it’s also quite buildable and easy to blend.

L’oreal Paris True Match Blush, $20.00 is the perfect sandalwood pink shade. This blush blends out like a dream and adds a beautiful pink flush to your cheeks. Light pink blush is suitable with any skin tone.

The Natio Radiant Blush Palette, $19.95 has a slight sheen to it with finely milled shimmer that offers a beautiful glow and radiance to the cheeks. So if your skin is looking a bit dull, spice up your look with this palette which will give you a flush of colour and a glow at the same time!
