17 Sep What To Do If You Sleep In Your Make-Up

We’ve all been there… It’s late, you’re tired, your feet hurt, and frankly it all seems like too much effort. After a late night the last thing you feel like doing is sticking to your skincare regime. Besides, the sooner you get to bed the more beauty sleep you get right? Nope, sleeping in your make up pretty much cancels out all beauty benefits of sleeping.

We’re not even going to get into to all that because let’s be real, we ALL know how bad sleeping in your make up is for our skin.

We know… it’s the ultimate make-up sin. But it happens.

So because we’re only human and can’t be perfect all the time, here’s what to do if you find yourself (as I have, many times) in this situation.

Take it Off
The morning after, you wake up regretting everything…. You slept in your make up and you can tell your skin already hates you.

Do. Not. Panic.

Start by using a cleansing oil like Sanctuary Spa Ultimate Facial Cleansing Oil, and take everything off. Cleansing oils help to unclog your pores and get your skin back to a clean slate.

If that seems too difficult, use some make up removing wipes until there’s no make up left on your face. Neutrogena Make-Up Remover Cleaning Towelettes are effective and will even remove waterproof eye make up.

Now that you’re make up free your skin needs a very thorough clean. If you have oily or acne prone skin, QSilica Makeup and Grime Cleansing Gel is an excellent choice as it contains jojoba seed oil which helps to balance oil production, which will be off the charts after sleeping in your foundation. Another great choice is Clarins One-Step Facial Exfoliator with Orange Extract, which gently exfoliates and detoxifies the skin.

As soon as you get the chance, a face mask is a really good idea. Sleeping in your make up promotes inflammation, stretches your pores and speeds up the skins aging process. A mask will help to counteract these effects and help your skin recover fast.

•    Clarins Pure and Radiant Mask is made with pink clay and will help prevent breakouts for oily or acne prone skin.

•    If you got little to no sleep, Bliss Triple Oxygen Instant Energizing Mask hydrates and stimulates your skin so you can fake those 8 hours.

•    Racinne Gentle Refining Scrub Mask is a nourishing antioxidant formula that will repair damaged skin and leave you with a radiant glow.
