21 Jan The Good Skin Commitment

Elucent Night Cream

Good skin is an investment. It takes time to find the right products, money to buy them and time to let them work their magic on your skin. I’d love to say that great skin can happen overnight with a good cleanse, tone and moisturise but it’s simply not the truth. Good skin takes commitment. Commitment to using the right products in the right way, day in and day out. And results won’t be overnight, possibly not even in days. To see any real, lasting results you’ll need to be consistently using your skin care for at least 1 week and at that point you can begin to see the first benefits of your good skin care routine. But the best results will come when your good skin care becomes a part of your daily routine, giving your skin the best care year after year.

Dry skin is the bane of my existence! No matter how much water I drink or fish oil I take I just seem to be lacking in the oil department. I take really good care of my skin,  and most of the time you wouldn’t even know dryness was an issue for me. But if I start to get run down, let my skin care routine slacken for a day or two, or start using the wrong products for my skin type I start to notice my skin getting crinkled and crepey from dryness. I know that if I didn’t make the time and commitment for a good skin routine I would look perpetually dry, have significantly more fine lines, more pigmentation and zero radiance- but thank god that’s not the case! I’ve been taking good care of my skin for years, and it’s time that works wonders.

This got me thinking, how much time actually works wonders on the skin? When does good skin happen?

I decided a clean canvas was what I needed to answer my questions…. to document how much time it really takes to see your own skin improve. I decided this meant no skin care for a week! EEEEEEKKKK!!! Take my skin back to basics and then start afresh with a whole new skin care routine. OK, OK  I didn’t last a week but I did last 3 days which was ridiculously hard with no moisturiser, no eye cream or serum! I only cleansed my skin with make-up wipes- yuck! My skin felt dull and dry. My make-up looked shitty too, I kept noticing it looking really creasey around my crows feet and my pores looked alot more visible.

Elucent Anti Ageing Gentle Cleanser and Day Cream

To kick-start a totally new skin routine I chose the Elucent Anti- Ageing range. I’m a firm believer in active skin care and the Elucent range is exactly that. I’m not going to waste time on ‘fluffy’ products that only look nice and smell pretty but don’t really do anything- give me active skin care any day!

Designed to hold off the premature signs of aging Elucent Anti-Ageing uses AHA’s in it’s formulations. AHA’s are a dynamic light acid that gently and effectively clear away dead skin build up, this in turn leads to clearer pores, less pigmentation, and sloughs of the top dead layer of skin revealing the hydrated radiant skin below.

I’ve now been using the whole range for 14 days. Cleanser, Day Cream, Night Cream, Eye Cream, and Body Moisturiser. My skin is drinking it up! It feels hydrated, plump and radiant.

After 7 days I started to notice a real boost in radiance and hydration.  My make-up looked better and my fine lines were less visible. It’s now been 14 days and that hydrated glow has settled in. I don’t notice my skin looking or feeling dry at any time of day now. The Day and Night Creams are to die for. Rich, creamy yet easily absorbed they give me hydration that lasts all day and makes fine lines less visible.

Elucent’s studies say that after 21 days of using their Anti-Ageing skin care regime 90% of women said their skin looked rejuvenated.  So I guess I have that to look forward to, but my skin already looks great and I’m loving my new routine!

Elucent is available online HERE. Highly recommended xx
