The Colour Castaway- Play With Colour

CAIT7 S_Fotor2This look is about experimenting with colour. In the lead up to summer I’m asking all of you to get out of your comfort zone and start experimenting with a little colour in your beauty look. Now this doesn’t mean you have to go overboard , when it comes to colour less is more and there are so many subtle ways you can start experimenting with colour.

Here are my top tips and products to get you started-

Scunci Hair Chalk– ( as seen above) Scunci Hair Chalk comes in three colours Pink, Purple and Green. Hair chalk is ideal for experimenting, it works by adding a temporary vibrant colour to your hair that easily shampoos out. Try  applying the hair chalk to wet strands of hair for a more vibrant colour or apply to dry hair followed by brushing for a soft pastel hue. You can create a gorgeous look with random streaks of colour or colouring just the ends of your hair for a pastel dip dyed look.

Add a splash of coloured eyeliner or cream eye shadow to your make-up- Opt for a vibrant cream eye shadow that can double as an eyeshadow or eyeliner. I used Maybelline Colour Tattoo (in these images) which is highly pigmented and creamy. You don’t have to use as much as I did in these pictures you could opt for a thin neon eyeline instead which would also look great.

Don’t go overboard! Keep it to one area on the face. If you have a bold colour on your eye then go for a nude lip and vice versa.

Psychologists say that wearing colour can enhance your mood. Blue brings peace, tranquility and calm. Purple will make you feel feminine and romantic…. hehe… well, if they say so!
