31 Oct The Best Vitamin Supplements For Great Skin

Lately, I’ve been burning the candle at both ends. Starting a new job, working on my side hustle and moving house all in the same month has left little room for shopping and cooking kale, hitting the gym, or squeezing in those must-have beauty appointments.

As a result, my life has been fuelled by lattes, red wines and the odd walk to work from the train station. Needless to say, my new #girlboss routine, while reflecting positively in my bank account, has been countered by less-than-stellar skin, newish under eye bags and sluggish energy levels that make it even less inspiring to hit the gym.

Other than resolving to drink more water at work and doing 100 sit ups while watching The Bachelorette, I felt like my system needed a hit of goodness to replenish all the nutrients I wasn’t getting. And so, craving vitality, I went searching for the perfect supplement.

Want to know what I found?

The Fountain brand is kicking goals for their beauty drinks. With names like Hyaluronic Molecule, The Beauty Molecule and Phyto Collagen Molecule you really do feel like you’re drinking a magic elixir.

Hyaluronic acid as most of us know by now, is an ingredient that holds 1000x its weight in water, which means that it retains moisture in our skin. Hyaluronic acid is produced naturally in our bodies, but as with everything, it decreases as we age, which explains all the skin dryness and lines and wrinkles.
And at this stage, I’ll take anything!

But can hyaluronic acid serve any purpose when ingested?

I will say that my skin definitely took on a more velvety appearance and I had mental clarity and energy.

My skin felt firmer and more hydrated, while my pores are smaller.

The taste isn’t amazing… a little thick, like syrup and too sweet -but put it in a smoothie or a juice and we’re all good.

In a nutshell, Fountain make a range of high concentration liquid molecule supplements that targeted the body on a cellular level.

Each of the nine different molecules specialises in harnessing a high concentration of supplementation for wellbeing. The Beauty Molecule contains resveratrol which is found in red wine and seaweed, The Hyaluronic Molecule is designed to keep skin plump and fresh, The Super Green Molecule is a deep concentrate of alfalfa chlorophyll and kelp, The Phyto Collagen Molecule is designed to supplement your own collagen and support new collagen formation.
There’s even The Hair Molecule ,The Geek Molecule, The Happy Molecule and The Energy Molecule.

Since taking these I have noticed that I have a sort of “glowy” look. My nails are also a lot stronger and my hair is growing in thicker, healthier, and with a lot more body and shine.

Another brand that has been high on my radar is Miss Vitality. Feeling run down? Miss Vitality Curcumin Forte is a premium extract of Turmeric and Cumerone to effectively assist in the relief of symptoms of arthritis and other inflammatory conditions, as well as skin complaints and many skin disorders.

I was feeling run down so I cracked open a bottle… these nutrients are said to prevent and neutralise free radicals. The supplement is even said to halt precancerous changes within the DNA. It’s too early to tell the long terms effects, but I didn’t get sick, which could be saying something.

I also like Miss Vitality Reservatrol, which is a high potency phytonutrient with anti-ageing properties. The supplement is derived from the roots of Fallopian Japonica (Japanese knotweed) — one of the richest sources of this valuable and versatile phytonutrient.

Resveratrol 100mg provides a range of health benefits: it has potent antioxidant; anti- inflammatory actions; as well as being cardio-protective and neuro-protective; it provides support for healthy joint function, whilst supporting the immune system and helping to slow the ageing process. The ultimate free radical scavenger – so who WOULDN’T pop it in a bottle?
Getting off coffee? Miss Vitality’s Elevate is a nutritional antioxidant containing essential Organic Green and Red Phytonutrients for health and vitality from the inside out. Contains organic super foods such as beetroot, wheatgrass, rosehip, and olive leaf to reduce acidity in the body and give you a hit of nature’s phytonutrients, extra vitamins, minerals, herbs and enzymes. Increases absorption and high in antioxidants.

Feel like something warm? Miss Vitality Clean Tea is a blend of detoxifying plants like Barberry, Pepermint, Lemongrass and Vanilla Bean, to purify the body and enliven the skin. It is rich in antioxidants to strengthen immunity, to cleanse and aid digestion with organic, certified ingredients.

Now, what about gut health?

Well, no one has owned that message more than Carla Oates from the Beauty Chef. To give you a daily shot of extra nutritional support, The Beauty Chef’s Collagen Inner Beauty Boost is another delicious shot to add to your smoothie – an organic, bio-fermented probiotic concentrate designed to increase the skin’s production of collagen and promote a radiant, naturally plumped complexion from the inside out.

Finally, need a hit of goodness on the go? Kora Noni Glow Skinfood Supplement comes in a convenient 7 PACK and is sworn by Miranda Kerr as her daily pick me up – especially during the afternoon slump. It’s been a game changer to reach for this in place of an afternoon latte (or an evening wine).

All these have been a part of my routine for the last 4 weeks, and while I haven’t had the healthiest habits, I can still feel the fuel of amazing nutrients flowing through my system. For now, I can have my cake and eat it too. Imagine if I went on a full health kick?
