15 Feb Sahara Sunset – The Latest Makeup Colour Trend
Peach perfect makeup has well and truly graduated into a bolder, moodier and strictly red hot colour trend for Autumn.
From runways to red carpets, editorials to cult beauty buys, dreamy, sunset inspired red’s and terracotta’s are taking over. Think ochres, warm browns and nudes and rusty, spiced reds.
There’s a beautiful warmth to these burnt and rusty red tones that have become particularly popular for eyeshadow. The trend is versatile as well, giving you the ability to create a romantic day time look or super bold and fierce evening look from the same palette.
The trick to bringing the trend into your own roster of beauty looks is in keeping things simple. Choose to either dress up your eyes, cheeks or lips separately and don’t get too matchy matchy when completing your look. If you’re going for a desert inspired eye, be sure that your blush or bronzer doesn’t contrast too much either. Dusty pinks and subtle bronzes work best to compliment your eye makeup, rather than compete with it.
The Products to Get The Look
It may have been around for a while now but this palette, that has rightfully received cult status, has continued to demonstrate its popularity. It’s often sold out of stores (I went to 3 different Mecca stores with no luck) proving that the hype when it was first released was warranted.
Set to be released at Mecca on Feb 27th (put it in your calendar!), the shades of Nars’ new Wanted palette are a perfect combination of this sunsety trend. The palette offers a mix of wearable neutrals, matte shades and shimmers so you can easily create a look for day or for play.
For those who have a little extra room in their budget, this Tom Ford eyeshadow quad has four beautiful shades that together, could create a deep and dusty take on the desert sunset tones. It’s certainly at the top of my wish list.
