10 Jun Products to Quench Thirsty, Dry Skin
It’s a known fact that changes in temperature can affect the skins natural hydration levels.
And like clock work, each year when the first cold weather hits, my skin dries out dramatically. With the dramatic change of temperature the skins ability to hydrate diminishes and the skin becomes dull, and more rough in texture.
Consequently, at this time of year I always need to change up my skin care routine a little, to give my thirsty skin the extra hydration it needs.
I tend to avoid heavy oils on my skin and prefer to combat dehydration with products that hydrate using water. Water based products make my skin appear fuller and more radiant, and they never leave an oily residue on the skin.
When the skin is dehydrated as a result of the temperature change, it looses it’s ability to retain water. So the right product for me has to have sufficient technology to bind that water/hydration to the skin and retain it over time.
I’ve fallen in love with the Clarins Hydra Essentiel range. Not only does it sufficiently quench my thirsty skin, it keeps it that way all day long.
Clarins have combined the power of water with the powerful hydration activator, the ‘leaf of life’. The leaf of life is an ingredient which comes from a plant with succulent leaves, and it gives the range an intensive hydrating ability.
This is the perfect moisturiser for thirsty skin! Dryness can leave the skin looking prematurely lined and crepey.
It will leave the skin feeling smooth, radiant and plump.
Hydra Essentiel Silky Cream delivers a supreme hydration but still feels lightweight and refreshing. No heaviness or residue with this one.
It also comes in a version for day use with an SPF 15+.
This serum also works to hydrate, but more importantly it helps the skin to retain precious moisture.
It brings a burst of refreshment for dry, thirsty skin, it feels lightweight and it will help intensify hydration levels.
The two new products work brilliantly as a duo to rehydrate and to maintain ideal moisture levels over a long period of time.
