27 Jun Let These Celebs Inspire Your Next Beauty Look
The red carpet is one of the world’s biggest stages. Whether it’s a movie premier, awards night or special event, we all turn toward the celebs walking it to note everything they’re wearing, who they’re with and, of course, the beauty look they’ve chosen.
Let’s be honest, celebrities, whether we want to admit it or not, play a very influential role in a lot of our beauty decisions. They can make or break a trend with a single insta post or trip down the red carpet and the industry is always turning to them for inspiration. So here’s a few of our favourite looks to inspire your next beauty look…
Old Hollywood Glamour
Sienna Miller’s red carpet look is the perfect example of old Hollywood glamour. Her perfectly curled and glossy locks, paired with a classic red lip, is great for evening events when glam is the only way to go. A hair-oil that doesn’t make your hair greasy and light hold hairspray will keep your locks in place without looking over done. As for makeup, stick to the basics; lipstick, lashes and bit of like contouring with a natural looking bronzer.
When you want to look like you’ve just rolled out bed and run a comb through your hair but still look a million bucks, let Amber Heard be your inspiration. Her cool-girl attitude and barely done look makes it seem as though her style is effortless even though she probably spent a good few hours getting made-up. Slept in curls are the best way to go, matched with a wine lip like Heard has chosen and foundation that looks like skin.
Good-girl Gone Edgy
I’ll admit, when I first saw that Scarlett Johansson had chopped off her enviably long, blonde locks, I was shocked. But to be honest, I quickly got over it and have started to love how bold, edgy and surprisingly elegant her shorter do is. The key is to keep a bit of length in the front to create movement and body. Then, pair your hair do with fresh and feminine makeup like lip gloss and a rose coloured blush to keep from looking too punk.
Jenna Dewan is the epitome of edgy glamour. She always looks polished and feminine without being overdone and girly. Her textured cut is a big part of that as is her dark eyeliner and pop of colour on the lips that makes for the perfect party inspiration. To emulate the look for yourself, let your hair air-dry before using a straightener to flick in a bit of texture. Then, finish off your makeup with a touch of metallic.
A sleek low-bun à la Hannah Jeter is my go-to when I can’t be bothered to do my hair because it’s so easy to recreate. The sleek and well put together look is minimal and can easily take you through day-to-night. It’s also best for showing off statement earrings. When going for a polished look, remember to always use a lip liner for a perfect pout and control fly-aways by spraying a tissue with hair spray and lightly brushing downwards.
