15 May How to Get The Most Out Of False Lashes

False lashes can easily take any makeup look from a 8/10 to a solid 10/10. Sure, applying fake lashes can be quite difficult, but with a lot of practice and patience, fake eyelashes will become your must have product.

I believe there are thousands of fake eyelash brands out there that come in different shapes, lengths and prices. You can find some lashes for $15 a pair and you can find some for $3 a pair, it really all comes down to the quality.

What many of you don’t know is that with a little bit of TLC, you can re-use fake eyelashes for up to 10-20 uses, which can save a lot of money, and once you find the perfect pair, it will save a lot of time.

Here are 4 tips on how to care for your fake lashes

Be gentle

This is the my number one tip. When removing them from the package, handle them with care by slowly removing them with tweezers whilst trying to keep them in shape. This tip also applies when removing the eyelash from your eye at the end of the day/night. If you feel like the glue won’t budge without ruining the lash, simply apply a damp cotton bud over the lash band until it begins to slide off your eye.

Don’t go overboard with mascara

Applying too much mascara can definitely ruin the look and quality of your fake lashes. That’s why it’s important to either only apply mascara to your real lashes before applying, or, simply apply a small amount which will help blend the fakes with your real lashes without smothering them.

Clean lashes when necessary

I’d recommend cleaning your lashes every 2-3 wears. Do this by simply peeling the dried up glue on the eyelash band off with your fingertips. Do not soak or wet the lashes.

Store them in a safe place

Do not throw away the packaging after using them. The best place to store them is in the original packaging away from dust, dirt and bacteria. This will also help them keep their shape for a longer period too!
