19 Aug Grow LONGER Eyelashes Naturally
I’ll let you in on a secret that will seriously rock your world…
A tried and tested, all natural beauty habit that I use every night because the results are actually amazing.
Being a beauty obsessive means I come across a lot of random tips and tricks that promise dramatic results. Generally, I jump on the bandwagon pretty quickly, and more often than not I’m left disappointed.
However, THIS is different. It’s easy, it’s affordable and it’s effective.
It may just be the best-kept beauty secret of all time.
So if you want longer eyelashes (umm who doesn’t?) keep reading and soon you’ll be giving everyone some serious lash envy.
For months I’ve been applying pure cold pressed castor oil to my eyelashes at night as a growth serum. As with many ‘all natural’ and ‘cheap’ beauty solutions, I had my doubts. If it sounds too good to be true… it probably is. But this is the exception to the rule. After four weeks my eyelashes were noticeably longer.
Addicted to longer lashes, I took a break and used a chemical eyelash growth serum instead. I noticed results from this as well but it began to give me irritation on my lash line so I had to stop.
The thing is… the results from the castor oil were not too far off the results I was getting from the other serum and there was no irritation. The castor oil actually nourished my lashes.
So I went back to my trusty castor oil and have been getting compliments on my eyelashes ever since.
To do this at home, you’ll need:
- Cold Pressed Castor Oil
- A travel bottle
- Q-tips or disposable mascara wands
Pour the castor oil into a travel bottle (this is more for convenience and will be easier to store in your bathroom). At night before you go to bed, dip a Q-tip into the oil, remove excess oil before wiping it over your lash line like you would with liquid eyeliner. You can then swipe the remainder onto your lashes. Alternatively, dip a disposable mascara wand into the oil and coat your lashes.
I prefer to use a Q-tip as I feel it gets to the root of the lashes but using the mascara wand is said to be just as effective. In the morning be sure to remove all the oil with some makeup remover or cleanser.
Castor oil was used by the Egyptians to encourage hair growth and stop men from balding. It’s super rich in fatty acids and acts as a great natural moisturizer. If you have thin brows try putting some on those hairs as well!
