Botanical Skin Care

I’ve been sent a couple of products from A’kin skin care to try out. As usual I did a little research into the range before I tested the products. A’kin products are made from all natural botanical essential oils, they are vegan and cruelty free which is great! I am a big fan of natural, vegan and animal friendly products and best of all they are Australian made and owned.

I put the 2 products together to create a little DIY facial at home. I started with cleansed skin  and then applied the A’kin Jojoba & Corn Gentle Exfoliating Facial Scrub.  This scrub refines skin texture with jojoba and corn beads that help buff off dead skin cells. It smells great and the beads were gentle on the skin. It prepares the skin to receive the maximum benefits from a moisturiser and leaves it feeling silky smooth. I massaged onto the face and neck then rinsed off with warm water.

Step 2 I applied the A’kin Instant Radiance Masque. This multi-Fruit & Willow Bark Mask is enriched with fruit AHA which is really successful at removing dead skin and evening the skin tone.  It also helps to reduce the appearance of imperfections, fine lines and pores. Vitamin B3 and hyaluronic acid in the formula help to restore the appearance of skin elasticity.  I left the mask on for around 10 minutes until it felt dry then gently washed it off with warm water.

I finished the routine with a serum and a night cream. I saw an instant improvement in skin tone and I had less obvious dry skin. Both these products retail for $29.95 and if used once or twice a week would last around 3 months. The A’kin range is  great range to have at home, and for doing DIY facial treatments like this. These simple steps are going to help make your skin look and feel great.
