12 Apr Beauty Talk with Sam Harris
She may be one of the Australian fashion industry’s most well known beauties but it turns out Samantha Harris isn’t just a pretty face. Beautiful, kind and wise beyond her years this down to earth Aussie girl shares an insight into beauty, health and self confidence. I had a great chat with Sam on the set of my latest editorial shoot. Check out the stunning pictures too, I had so much fun doing Sam’s make-up for this shoot!!!
When you look at someone you think is beautiful, what is the first thing you notice about them?
First thing I notice is their smile. Smiling is contagious and it always makes me smile back.
Who inspires you?
I’m inspired by women who tackle the world head-on like my amazing mother, she is such a strong and kind hearted woman.
Describe your daily beauty regimen.
I cleanse and moisturize both morning and night and always use a moisturiser with sunscreen in it during the day.
What is your all time favourite perfume?
I love Marc Jacobs Daisy, it’s definitely my favourite!
How do you keep your skin clear?
I try to eat a healthy, well balanced diet and drink plenty of water. I always make sure all my makeup is removed before I go to sleep.
You always look amazing, but do you have any beauty concerns of your own?
I really hate when my skin breaks-out it makes me feel very self conscious.
In the industry you work in do you ever cop any negative criticism? If so how do you get through it?
I just try to be the best possible version of myself. People will always have something negative to say about other people, no matter what their occupation is. As long as I know I’m doing the best that I can, nothing else matters.
Do you have any beauty tips or tricks you could share?
Less is more when it comes to makeup, I believe it’s way better to let your natural beauty shine through.
What is your all time favourite hair product?
Dry shampoo I love using it to add a bit of texture and volume to my very fine hair.
Negative body image is rife in young women, do you have any advice on staying positive and boosting self confidence?
I try to tell young girls not to compare yourself to anyone, we are all different and that’s what makes us special. Always be happy and confident within yourself.
What is the most important aspect of beauty to you?
The most important part of being beautiful is personality. My mum always told me if you have a beautiful heart your true beauty will shine from the inside out.
